Release Available v2.5

Greetings Disco ICT Community!

I'm happy to announce the general availability of Disco ICT v2.5.

This release is largely due to organisations who sponsor this project and receive official support.

This project has now existed for nearly 15 years and continues to be released free and open-source.

In addition to significant investment into individual plugins, the main project contains changes to 989 code files, and 110k lines of code.

Custom Device Models

Historically, a device must be enrolled before the matching Device Model appears. This has limited some who want to use Disco ICT's asset management and device lifecycle functionalities.

You can now add your own custom Device Models, importing and managing any devices or asset (projectors, TVs, printers, keys, security fobs, etc).

See: Configuration > Device Models > 'Create Custom Device Model' at the bottom.
Comments for Users and Devices

Adding notes to Jobs has long been supported.

In a similar way, you can now add comments for individual Users and Devices.

It is recommended to continue to use Jobs for incident/task management, or User/Device Flags along with their custom comment. However, there may be some situations where adding a comment directly to a User/Device is warranted.

Export Enhancements, including Scheduled Exports

Exporting is available and with more fine-tuning for devices, jobs, flags, documents and document campaigns (for those with Document Fulfilment).

Individual user details can be added to exports.

Exports can be configured and scheduled to run at specific times or on demand (to those assigned permission).

Official Support

Disco ICT continues to be freely available and open source. Official support is available. Organisations with a support package will receive assistance with getting Disco ICT up and running, troubleshooting any issues, and (optionally) training to make the most of this great tool. Additional functionality will be opened up to those with a support package and the opportunity to provide feedback for new functionality and early releases.

Supporting organisations directly impacted a significant portion of this release.

Please reach out to discuss official support for your organisation. Discounts are available for non-profit organizations or those experiencing financial hardship.
